Practical Seminar on Documentary Credits for Trade Finance Practitioners:
This practical seminar on documentary credits is designed for experienced banking specialists who work with documentary business in their daily practice. The programme focuses on correctly drafting and structuring documentary credit terms and on expert examination of presented documents in line with ICC rules: UCP 600 and ISBP 821.
The seminar is also suitable for company employees who actively use documentary credits — in particular heads of trade and finance, sales staff, contract managers and other professionals who interact with banks. Emphasis is placed on practical application: participants will work with real‑life examples, model scenarios and open discussion, so they leave not only with theoretical knowledge but with confidence in day‑to‑day handling of documentary credits.
Key benefits
• Practical, immediately usable skills — participants leave with clear drafting techniques and sample wording for L/C terms that reduce ambiguity and disputes.
• Document examination mastery — step by step procedures for examining high risk documents under UCP 600 and ISBP 821.
• Reduced operational risk and faster settlement — checklists and workflows that lower the rate of rejected presentations and shorten processing times.
• Real world problem solving — model scenarios and case studies that teach how to prevent, manage and resolve disputes in practice.
• Confidence in daily operations — hands on exercises and open discussion build the judgement needed to defend your position.
• Ready to use takeaways — clause templates, one page checklists and practical recommendations that can be applied immediately.
Who will benefit
• Trade finance bankers and operations staff working with documentary credits on a daily basis.
• Front office specialists and relationship managers who negotiate L/C terms and advise clients.
• Bank lawyers, compliance officers and auditors responsible for policy, controls and dispute handling.
